PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the Kiwanis International was founded January 21, 1915 and is an organization devoted to the principle of service; and

WHEREAS, the North Pole Kiwanis Club is dedicated to the advancement of individual, community and national welfare; and

WHEREAS; the Kiwanis Club gives primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life; and

WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club encourages the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships; and

WHEREAS, the North Pole Kiwanis Club provides a practical means to form enduring friendships, renders altruistic service and builds a better community; and

WHEREAS, the City of North Pole gratefully acknowledges the influence for good accomplished by the Kiwanis Club of North Pole, whose members have contributed so much in the way of leadership, personal service and promoting volunteerism in the community.

NOW, THEREFORE, I Johnny McCoy, Mayor of the City of North Pole, do hereby recognize and commend the North Pole Kiwanis for their efforts to enhance the quality of life in North Pole through volunteering their service and hereby proclaim that Monday, March 8, 1999 shall be

North Pole Kiwanis Day

And encourage the citizens of North Pole to join me in saluting this fine service organization for their many years of service to North Pole

Meetings are held at Santa’s Seniors Center located on Fifth Avenue in North Pole. Luncheon is served at a cost of eight dollars.
