North Pole Blend a Winner

NORTH POLE COFFEE's "North Pole Blend" received the second highest rating in a nationwide coffee (cupping) tasting sponsored by "Coffee Review."

Jail Birds

Some NPCCC members recently did time behind bars. Chamber President Evolyn Melville and Member Diana Hinshaw (ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES) participated in a fundraiser sponsored by the Alaska Chapter of the Muscular Distrophy Association. Their jail time was not too harsh of an experience, as their cells were located at the SANTA CLAUS HOUSE.

Membership Meeting
December 1998

NPCCC membership met at Santa's Senior Center, 101 5th Avenue in North Pole on December 17th at noon. The luncheon was catered by Mama C's and the menu of meatloaf and mashed potatoes with gravy, peas, carrot-raisin salad and rolls was delicious.

Officer Scott Deal and his K9 partner, Cheyenne.           Officer Scott Deal and K9 Cheyenne of the North Pole Police Department demonstrated their expertise as a drug detection team. Cheyenne is a black lab of undetermined age, rescued from the pound and trained in the detection of several narcotic substances.

Police Chief Chief Gerald Ownby shares the hope of many, that if Cheyenne's work can convince students to leave drugs at home, our local schools will be safer for all students.
Kathy Mayo stood in the Business Spotlight, informing the membership of important concerns ALYESKA PIPLINE SERVICE COMPANY considers in their business. She said that many ALYESKA employees are thrilled with the North Pole Area and gladly volunteer their time in the community.

Bob DeGraw of Community Schools spoke about the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, presented the Winter Class List, and made an appeal for instructors and students.
