The Aurora Borealis Monument
 |
the "sculpture" is Solar Borealis, that was created as part of the "One percent for the Arts" project
associated with the expansion of Fairbanks International Airport in the
early '80's. Made of laser light reflective material the Solar Borealis sculpture changes colors as you drive below it. The sculpture closely resembles the experience of the actual Aurora. For more information on the Solar Borealis visit the Public Lands Museum located in the basement of the Old Courthouse Downtown (corner of Cushman and Fourth Ave.) |
