January 22, Saturday, 4 pm -- Winter Picnic Potluck with White Elephant Gift Exchange
Location: Home of Helen Howard (374-2914). Call for directions
We begin the New Year activities with the Winter Picnic Potluck at Helen Howard’s new home on Riverview Drive. A special invitation goes out to all new & old members that have joined and rejoined the guild. This is a great opportunity to meet the new members, catch up on everyone’s activities, projects and New Year resolutions like ‘more weaving & spinning or finishing all UFO projects’. Bring a potluck dish to share and if you want to participate in the WHITE ELEPHANT exchange, bring a recycle item, book, yarn project, anything in brown or white bag. We are always surprised. Come at 4 pm to visit, Potluck at 5 pm and gift exchange to follow. It’s always lots of fun.

Soup & Bread at 1:00pm OPEN HOUSE will include the following demo’s :

ACTIVITIES FOR THE DAY ARE:
Make a warp with a paddle with multiply yarns
Warping demonstration on floor or table loom
TRY Weaving on a rigid heddle or floor loom
Card/Tablet warping, ‘Fast & Easy Way’
Spindle &Spinning Wheel Demo’s Spin on a variety of Spinning Wheels Hand, Drum Carding & Wool picking
Card cutting for guild fund raiser. (Make one for yourself & a few for the guild)
BRING YOUR OWN PROJECT TO WORK ON OR ANYTHING YOU NEED HELP WITH
Sewing Machine on site for repairs.
Come for lunch at 1pm & stay for the activities.

FEBRUARY 17 FRI. 4 – 9pm JODI’S BUSY BEE
Jodi’s recent foot surgery has kept her at home but she is now ready to get her loom warped for Spring projects & wants to work on her UFO’S. She is inviting everyone to come & knit, finish a basket, or watch a warping demo at 5:30pm. Just stop by to say Hello before heading for home or to an evening activity. Bring a snack and stay the evening. WARPING DEMO at 5:30pm on a 4 shaft loom.

All Spinners are invited to come & tell stories of how & why they started spinning.
Bring show & tell of favorite items. Don’t forget your first spun yarn & what you did with it.
Share a spinning or plying technique. Spinning wheels available.
