FEE: $275 Paid to the Guild on the first night of class. Sign up through the University if you are interested in taking the course for credit in Art or Humanities for an extra $75. Sign up through the Guild if you are just interested in learning how to weave.

Postponed (Mon & Wed)............ Professional Sewing Techniques Class with Ruiz Anne Rozell
.....Learn the special techniques for creating tailored garments and how to add interesting details that jazz up and add interest to an everyday garment. This course will present basic sewing skills, terminology, equipment usage and notions that produce quality looking clothing. The goal is to share learning to sew and the pleasure and satisfaction of a well made garment.
.....Students will construct a tote bag that meets the class requirements. The classes will be primarily lecture with the student completing the sewing outside of class. This class is a pre-requisite for future advanced sewing classes to be offered. This course will meet on Monday/Wednesdays from 1 to 3:30pm.

Feb 17 (Tues & Thurs)........... 6 week Daytime Weaving Class with Penny Wakefield
Beginning weavers will make two warps -- weave off a colorful sampler warp with a variety of threading /treadling patterns, then design and weave your very own alpaca scarf.
Experienced weavers will do a shorter version of Art 227 Woven Design II: R.A.G.S. & Rugs.
This workshop is flexible and can be designed for individual instruction, different levels of weaving, and whatever fits your schedule best.
Beginners, intermediate and advanced weavers can be accommodated.

An intensive class to increase your knowledge of fiber properties, fiber forms available, and spinning techniques suited to each fiber. Fibers included are wool, silk, cotton, flax, cashmere, yak, alpaca, mohair, ramie and many more. Students will learn to construct yarns of appropriate fiber, diameter and twist for the desired end use. We spin approx. 65 samples. (Not a beginning Spinning Class) New Spinners can get help and additional experience at the Spinning Bee April 18th at Alice Stickney’s. Call Alice for directions: 479-3425

May 16 (Sat)...... FREE Warping Session On PADDLE WARPING, TWO COLOR or MIXED WARP
Help provided for designing a project. Learn how to use a paddle for warping many threads or just make a warp for your loom and put it on without a hassle with even tension and no tangles or loose threads. No loom, no problem. Make a warp and practice putting it on a studio loom to be used for the Youth Summer Program.
