Fairbanks Potters Guild
General Membership Meeting
December 14, 2009
Present: Frances, Michelle, Stan, Chuck & Bobbi, Anne S., Mary Blurton,
Yoriko, Nancy H.-J., Jennifer C., Monica Chi & son, Ethan.
Program: Monica Chi presented her Voice Thread (a computer program) that she
and her 5th grade class made of their Empty Bowls project. It was a
wonderful presentation, and it is truely remarkable what Monica has
achieved!! Monica also thanked the guild for being her life-line.
There
was much discussion of future possibilities.
Jen Cameron also talked about what she is doing with all the 5th grades in
the school district. They have all made bowls that are now being bisque
fired. Schools that don't have kilns will have their bowls taken to
schools
that do. Jennifer could use some help with this. She also said
teachers
are on their own for the glazing portion of the project. So here is
another
chance to help out. Contact Jennifer Cameron,
jc@mosquitonet.com
for more
information on how you can help.
Jen presented Monica with 2 Sue Dean mugs purchased by the guild. Also,
the
guild gave Monica an honorary membership to the guild. So we have a new
member and Monica is an official potter!!!!
