The Guild hosts a booth at the local Farmers Market during the summer and participates in the Farmers Market Christmas Bazaar. Selling your wares to the public provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about the business of pottery. We also have throwing demonstrations at the market from time to time. We give the children a lump of clay and show them how to make a pinch pot. This really draws a crowd and encourages the parents to take a closer look at our ware. While doing a demonstration we ended up gaining some free publicity in our local news paper, the Daily News Miner. A local reporter just happened to be doing a story about the market and one of our potters ended up in the feature photo for the article.
