SERVICES PROVIDED

Outreach: Specifically trained staff seek out Seniors to inform them of our program, provide information and referral services and make home visits.

Nutrition: Congregate meals are sreved from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. Request for delivered meals to elderly homebound must be received 24 hours in advance of delivery. Guest and out of town visitors are invited to attend on a space available basis.

Information and Referral: Persons with questions about Social Security, Public Assistance, Benefits, Food Stamps, Housing, and other needs are provided information and referral to the appropriate agency as well as assisted with completing the required forms.

Transportation: Door to door rides are provide to the; the Center for meals, doctors office for medical appointments, stores for shopping needs, and other related activities.

In additon to those listed above, we provide assistance in Health Care, In-Home Support, Escort & Shopping, Legal Assistance, Housing, and Senior Discounts.

What Can You Do to Help:

Maintaining a comprehensive program for Senior Citizens and operating a Seniors Center requires many hands. You can participate in the maintenance and operation of our facility by enjoying the activities, take advantage of our Center, provide donations and Volunteer your special talents to our efforts. We encourage you to take full advantage of the Seniors Center and to volunteer your time in making Fairbanks and better place for all Senior Citizens. "Meals-On-Wheels" always needs volunteers. An hour a day, a week, or a month. Get the know someone who may really need you.
