ICA was established in 1912 to meet the needs of credit
managers in the retail field. As the credit industry expanded, the
association's focus grew to cover all segments of the credit industry.
In today's marketplace, credit has grown almost immeasurably. Not only
has outstanding debt reached new levels, but credit products have become
varied and enhanced. Bankruptcy filings under the current laws are a
consistent problem.
Those who work in the credit field know very well the nature of
employment in the industry has changed greatly. Centralization and
increased automation have streamlined credit operations, thus decreasing
the number of positions and creating a need for more specialized,
trained and knowledgeable employees. You can gain that edge through
involvement in ICA and its programs at the
local, district and
national/international
levels
