Checklist of FairNet WWW Site Guidelines
The Board of Directors of FairNet, Inc. has adopted WWW Site Guidelines
for information posted to its server or for links appearing primarily through
FairNet. The purposes of the guidelines are to help assure accountability,
help provide timely updates, and help maintain access for graphical and
non-graphical browsers. FairNet asks that persons and entities posting
information through FairNet attempt to abide by these guidelines.
I. Authority
- Is the compiler of the site named?
- Is the source of the information listed?
II. Timeliness
- Is the information timely?
- Is there information that should be updated to remain accurate?
- Is there a visible indication of when the site was last updated?
- Is there an indication of how often the site will be updated?
III. Interactivity
- Can FairNet users respond online to the site?
- If not, is there a contact email address, postal address or phone number?
- Can users with non-graphic viewers respond or interact?
IV. Format
- Can the site be used easily by graphic and non-graphic browsers?
- Are the links and images labelled for non-graphic users?
- Is there indication somewhere on the sire of what format is used to
design and post the site?
- Is the site primarily graphic? If so, is there any kind of warning to
non-graphic users?
- If the resource is not primarily graphic, do the graphics contribute
or hinder use of the site for most users?
