Historical note

The Northward Building which hiuses ElderNet, Served as a model for Edna Ferber's book, The Ice Palace. This most famous novel ever written about Fairbanks, Alaska, was published in 1958 shortly before the Alaska Statehood Bill was passed by Congress. There are many ghosts of Fairbanks past still lurking about the hallways and hiding in many-a-resident's closet of the historicNorthward Building. For more history about the Ice Palace stop by and visit with ElderNets's in-house historian, Pioneer Alaskan, Mary Hajdukovich.
