There is plenty of parking near the Farmhouse Visitor Center in the lot next to the picnic area, the area next to the Bunkhouse, or along Creamer’s Lane.
All events and programs are FREE unless otherwise noted. Donations are always welcome.

Thursday, March 11th 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
This month’s program topic is “Animal Tracks” and includes reading of a book,
making a craft, and taking a brief walk on the refuge. A $3 donation per child is suggested
and reservations are required. Maximum of 15 children per class, call 452-5162 for reservations.
Spring Equinox Walk
Saturday March 20th 1:00 – 3:00pm (Walk begins at 1:15pm)
Take a very early spring walk on the Refuge trails to celebrate the changing of the seasons or
when the sun is halfway between the lowest and the highest points it reaches in the sky and day
and night are about the same length of time. Look for signs of local animals just waking up or very
active during our cold weather. Learn about signs to look for in the coming weeks.
Owl Program
Thursday April 1st 7:00 – 8:30pm at the Taiga Center at Wedgewood Resort
Please join us for our much loved annual program on owls. Enjoy a talk and slide show about the
ecology of our local owls, how to find them and identify their calls, and meet live owls!

Spring Migration Celebration
Saturday May 1st Noon – 4:00pm
Come to this much anticipated annual celebration of spring migration at Creamer’s Field Migratory
Waterfowl Refuge. Scheduled to coincide with the peak of bird migration, the program consists of
bird and wildlife viewing, information booths of local conservation organizations, nature walks, and
activities for the whole family such as puppet shows, crafts, and games. Activities will take place
both at Creamer’s Field and Alaska Public Lands Information Center. This free event is
cooperatively presented by Friends of Creamer’s Field, Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the
Alaska Bird Observatory, the Arctic Audubon Society, the Alaska Public Lands Information Center,
Ducks Unlimited, and the US Fish & Wildlife Service.

Frog Walk
Sunday May 9th 1:00 – 3:00pm (Walk begins at 1:30pm)
Join Friends of Creamer’s Field for our annual Mother’s Day frog walk. Learn about Alaska’s
elusive wood frogs and then take a walk in hopes of both hearing and seeing interior Alaska’s only
amphibian! Be sure to come dressed for the weather and don’t forget the mud boots!
