Fairbanks, Alaska - July 24 to August 2, 2009

Welcome to the Seventh annual Alaska International Senior Games in Fairbanks, the Golden Heart City. The Games were instituted to promote the health and well-being of senior citizens, ages fifty and above, through friendly rivalry in sports competition. As we head into this new season, I am happy to see the same friendly enthusiasm for sport that was evident at the original games in 2003. This year's games will be no exception. Let's keep that sense of encouraging camaraderie that has marked all our previous games and above all, have fun.
